ESPEN Highlights
This year the ESPEN 46th annual meeting is hosted in Milan the 7-10 September. If you are not able to in Milan, we would like to give you the opportunity to join our Webinar, where we will present the highlights from our symposia, product updates and lectures from the congress, along with a keynote lecture on gut microbiota and tolerance by dietitian Randi Tobberup (Ph.D klinisk ernæring, ledende klinisk diætist, Center for Ernæring og Tarmsvigt, Ålborg Universitetshospital).

Which factors in early life support gut health, and why are they important?
Dr. Carina Saunders, consultant pediatrician at Oslo University Hospital, holds a PhD on infant diet and the gut microbiome’s influence on allergic disease development. This talk will explore how early-life factors such as birth, breastfeeding, diet, and environment shape the gut microbiome in infancy, thereby influencing immune development and promoting long-term health.

Understanding Paediatric Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Dr. Ralf Heine will expand knowledge and understanding of Pediatric GERD. The typical symptoms and predictors of GERD in children, as well as overlapping symptoms that may indicate other diagnoses. Further, discuss the diagnostic criteria and current guidelines for assessment, along with recommended treatment options. Additionally, explore the connections between FGID) and CMPA, highlighting relevant research that informs clinical practice.

Eosinophilic Esophagitis - Diagnosis, Treatment, and Research
Helena Thulin, MD, PhD at Astrid Lindgren’s Children’s Hospital in Stockholm who defended her thesis in April 2024 titled “Pediatric Eosinophilic Esophagitis.” During the lecture, Helena will share her expertise in the field and highlight important aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of EoE. She will also discuss the latest guidelines and current research related to the topic
